In August, we made a trip out to California to see my family. We swam, saw friends, saw family, watched the Dodgers, and had an A+ time! We also started taking Patrick to his Little Gym classes once a week.

Good golly I’m behind on posts. Not because I’ve been busy really. Just didn’t feel like updating. SO THERE!
Anyway, we went to the Fort Worth Zoo and it was awesome! No one was there so we could get up close and take our time! The Zoo is actually really good, it’s just one of those off-days. Don’t try to go on a Friday at the end of the school year though….it’s packed!
We can’t wait until he’s older and can really appreciate all the exhibits and animals. We are so lucky that the Zoo is only 15 minutes away.
My mom (Grammy) had a super visit to Fort Worth to see Patrick Shea and generally help us out around the house with the dogs, cooking, and tidying! She even cleaned & re-finished our patio set!!!
The days went by so quickly- at least for me! It is amazing to think back on how much he’s changed in those 10 days! We also have made progress as parents too, I think. We took him out with us to 3 restaurants and I really got comfortable managing him and nursing in public. I feel like I can finally leave the house and accomplish things with my little pal in tow.
One of the best things is that PShea has started social smiling! It really is such a happy feeling to see him intentionally smile at you after weeks of scowls and stares that say “who are you and what are you doing.” He smiled at all 3 of us and it was just the best!
We’ve also spent more time and effort on tummy time…I’m sure every parent thinks their child is “the prize”, but I was still quite surprised at his strength and persistence when he wants to wiggle around and scoot and turn his head!
Sharing lots (you’ve been warned) of pictures from our maternity shoot! They came out so wonderful (we think!) We are thrilled that she will also photograph Baby P once he makes an appearance!
All photos by Arden Prucha Photography – she rocks!
This post will be all over the place, but it is an update from the last 2 or so weeks!
First up is the arrival of our “Bassinest”! This is something I researched nearly a year ago, and was certain that I wanted to use with our bebe. It is pretty sweet!
Last Thursday, Patrick and I celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary! He had just gotten back from several days at a work trip in Milwaukee, so we just chilled at home and had some photos to commemorate us and da belly. I am 26 weeks along in these pics.
Last weekend, we flew out to CA to spend time with family and friends…and also for our CA Baby Shower!!! It was such a fun day, and I will do a proper recap post soon! We have such supportive, generous, and fun friends and family — we are super lucky!
Everyone knows the best time for photos is in terrible living room lighting, delirious, at night, after a loooong day in the sun!
When we arrived back home from CA, we had a surprise waiting at the door—- Our new stroller!!! Such an amazing gift from my parents; we are so excited to use it! We picked out the Chicco Bravo Trio system. No one wants to hear about strollers, but basically it comes with the stroller frame, toddler seat, and infant/car seat & base. It is incredibly easy for us to fold up and snap together which is going to be critical in the future!
&& Lastly, here are my 27 week belly photos:
Here are my 25 week update pics!
I think the weekends of bearable outside activities have ended (sad face.) It has officially become HOT in Texas. Patrick and I finally hit up one of our old faves – Bahama Bucks. This snow cone heaven was one of the few reasons I made it out of Lubbock with my sanity. They put one in Fort Worth sometime last year, but we finally went last weekend. We did it up big with the ice cream + cream + snow combo. #diabeetus
Responding to my sad cries for help, my mom was so awesome and sent me a ton of maternity tanks and athletic shorts which I was in desperate need of. She also sent me this dress…..which I was actually wearing when I opened it! Good taste though eh?
We also received a surprise in the mail last week- a Pack ‘n Play from my cousins Maureen and Beth! Patrick set it up in our formal dining room dumping area, soon to be play area.
Lastly, we got another sneak peak (Catherine is da bomb!) at the little guy last weekend, and even managed to get a bit of a 3D look at him — although he was being a real stinker and had his arm and hand in his face the whole time.
Some good lookin’ nostrils tho. Can you sorta make his face out?
On one morning of the vacation in Tahoe, we had a photographer come in and take some pics- she was super cool and did a great job putting up with all of our shenanigans! You can check Lauren Lindley out here. HIghlights below!
