The Bevans invited us to see Santa with the kids at Sundance Square downtown. We had a great time, and there was no line for Santa so we really got to take our time and take lots of pics! Santa was really good with the kids and our lil tiny one!
This year, my younger sister Kylie and my Dad were in town for Thanksgiving! Scott and Catherine hosted Thanksgiving at their house this year, so we had the easy task of just bringing over some green bean casserole and a desert- My world-famous pumpkin coffee cake (well not really, but it’s pretty damn good!)
The meal was amazing and it was so nice to just relax and catch up with family. I feel so lucky that my in-laws and immediate family get to see each other a couple times a year, and talk, and have fun– It really means a lot to me!!
After the food and some football, we headed home and Kylie and I immediately changed into our best Christmas sweaters, bumped some Christmas tunes, and I started taking down Fall decor, and busting out the Christmas stuff!
The next day, the girls did the annual Black Friday shopping! We brought all 4 kiddos and they did really well! Kylie and I also did some good shopping and ended up with some similar items…
We’re so looking forward to my whole family coming back in just a few weeks to celebrate Christmas!!
My mom (Grammy) had a super visit to Fort Worth to see Patrick Shea and generally help us out around the house with the dogs, cooking, and tidying! She even cleaned & re-finished our patio set!!!
The days went by so quickly- at least for me! It is amazing to think back on how much he’s changed in those 10 days! We also have made progress as parents too, I think. We took him out with us to 3 restaurants and I really got comfortable managing him and nursing in public. I feel like I can finally leave the house and accomplish things with my little pal in tow.
One of the best things is that PShea has started social smiling! It really is such a happy feeling to see him intentionally smile at you after weeks of scowls and stares that say “who are you and what are you doing.” He smiled at all 3 of us and it was just the best!
We’ve also spent more time and effort on tummy time…I’m sure every parent thinks their child is “the prize”, but I was still quite surprised at his strength and persistence when he wants to wiggle around and scoot and turn his head!
